If you were charged with DWI while in New York but go to school in another area of the country, our law firm can work with the judge to accommodate certain aspects of your sentence. For instance, you may have to attend a Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) impact panel or a drinking and driving program as a condition of your probation. If your university is a great distance from New York, this can represent a substantial inconvenience and hardship. We can work with the judge to allow you to attend such a panel close to your school. If you go to school in New Jersey or Connecticut, it is likely that you will still have to attend a Drinking Driver Program or other classes in New York.
